Routine guide
A light recurring checklist to keep on top of small home maintenance tasks before they turn into big problems.
Small maintenance done regularly keeps your home safer and often cheaper to run. This routine gives you a quick health check for the house without turning into a full weekend project.
Use this routine every one to three months depending on your home and climate.
Test smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
Test alarms and replace batteries if needed.
Check taps, drains and visible pipes
Look for slow leaks, drips or damp spots under sinks so you can fix them early.
Clean filters and vents
Wipe or replace filters in extractor fans, tumble dryers or heating systems according to the manual.
Quick outside walk-around
Walk around the outside of your home checking gutters, drains, walls and garden for anything that needs attention.
Capture repairs and quotes
Note any jobs you cannot do today and add them as separate tasks or projects so they are not forgotten.
How long should a home maintenance check take?
Most people can complete this light check in 30–45 minutes once they know the steps.
Save this template as a reusable routine, tweak the steps and run it in Run Mode whenever you need it.
